Land
Contract; A Contract for Deed/Land Contract allows a real estate seller
to provide financing to the buyer. The seller keeps the property's
legal title while permitting the buyer to take possession. The buyer
will receive the property title after paying the full purchase price
plus any and all interest.

Land
contracts were very popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Back
then, installment sale contracts, sometimes called contracts for deed,
offered more attractive financing terms over the higher rates and rigid
qualification standards of institutional lenders. They are becoming
